‘Lemon mustache’

The summer of 2013 will be remembered as one of the hottest beginning of this century in the Mediterranean context.

Because of these high temperatures in the “El Pino” Mundosol Quality estate that is in the town of Los Urrutias (Murcia), has appeared tetranychid “red spider” (Tetranychus urticae).

In the absence of predators, also due to the heat, to combat this pest activity has moved from the leaf to fruit producing a necrosis commonly known as “lemon mustache”.

With the cessation of heat this week are beginning to see a larger population of natural enemies: in this case the “conwentzia psociformis” a “neuróptero acarófago”.
