Selectivity

I respect you have the month of June as it is the time of the final notes of the course. Shift quality certification of our farms. ‘Global Gap’, ‘Tesco Nurture’, ‘Global Grasp’ are the audits that we have soon. Thanks to our customers and their continuous assessments we are prepared for Selectivity. We believe that we can approve and enjoy the well-deserved vacation.

The trees are also in full selectivity, selecting the fruits that grow on the tree, ensuring lemon production for the harvest season that starts this September. The physiological fruit drop naturally depends on many factors, but looms large tree nutritional status. During Phase I of fruit development, lemon adjusts its ability to nourish the developing fruit changing their number, so that all those who receive poor nutrition break off and fall from the tree. As you can see in the picture, on the knob 6 fruitlets developing the pale green color, which can be seen is the fruit that has chosen the tree detach.

The climate does not accompany too far, as no rain is expected this summer and lemon can accuse him. The first outbreaks of spider mites (Tetranychus urticae) on the underside of leaves producing a bulge of the sheet are yellowing. As temperatures continue to rise, the natural enemies of red spider will decline and the spider will jump into developing fruit causing damage known as Lemon mustache. Must exercise extreme caution with this pest. If they are young trees, it is the citrus leafminer (Phyllocnistis citrella), the pest responsible for slowing the growth of these trees and therefore their entry into production, and that distorts the most tender sprouts hindering their photosynthetic activity.
