Surprise your loved ones on Father’s Day is almost a requirement. Look at the recipe that we suggest for dessert, or with coffee, that date.
- 500 Grams of flour
- 2 Eggs
- 100 Ml of milk (half a glass)
- 100 Ml of olive oil (half a glass)
- Half cup of sugar, plus we use to decorate
- 2 Packs of soda (two white and two blue)
- Oil for frying
- The grated rind of one lemon
We begin whisking eggs in a bowl, add the sugar, milk, olive oil, soda, grated lemon rind and the splash of anise and mix well. Then I’ll add the flour gradually while mixing until a soft dough with enough consistency to shape with your hands.
Once the mass, we must begin to fry the rolls. This is the most complicated because it does not come out well if the oil is little or too hot. One trick that we are not ‘snatch’ rolls is try before with a piece of bread, if you take long brown oil should be warmed up and rolls will leave us ‘oily’.
If the bread is browning out quickly but cold inside the oil temperature’s down. Once the issue of controlled oil temperature, proceed to fry the rolls, for this we spread our hands in oil so that the dough does not stick, we shape the rolls and we throw to the pan. The ideal is to have help during this process, one goes to shape the rolls and throwing them to the pan and fry them and another shows a source with blotting paper to remove excess oil.
When they are all fried and before they cool, two bowls, one with sugar and one with anise, and rolls first get into anise and then in sugar, so we will stay ‘they battered’ sugar and preparing an unmistakable flavor.
